Find Union County Traffic Court Records

Start with the citation number on your ticket. Union County traffic court records live with the court that took the filing, and the citation tells you which court that is, plus your court date and how to respond. Once you know the court, run your Union County traffic ticket lookup through that court's own channel, whether it is a docket search, a clerk request, or a case lookup by name or number. Then verify anything that matters, like a hearing date or a payment route, directly with that court. Be careful about tools that look official but do different jobs: a payment page can settle a fine, yet it is not a docket and it will not show your calendar or the full court record.

Traffic Case Records in Union County

Union County has more than one traffic-court channel and no verified countywide citation-search system. Statewide Magistrate material includes traffic and DWI/DUI in Magistrate jurisdiction. The New Mexico Courts Master List assigns Clayton Municipal Court traffic violations, DWI/DUI, petty misdemeanors, animal control, and code enforcement. The citation’s named court therefore controls where to ask about the docket, court date, payment, or copy.

The court record is held by the court that filed the matter. A Union County Magistrate case belongs with the Magistrate clerk. A Clayton Municipal case belongs with the Municipal clerk. Case Lookup is a separate case-information service, but its Municipal information is limited to historic criminal domestic-violence and DWI convictions from September 1, 1991. Do not assume it is a complete current traffic docket.

Magistrate or Clayton Municipal?

Read the issuing court exactly as it appears on the citation. Union County Magistrate Court and Clayton Municipal Court have separate clerks and separate case records. The statewide Municipal Courts directory lists Clayton Municipal Court at 124 N. Front Street, Clayton, NM 88415, and gives one published office number. The current Master List gives a second office number, so call before travel, payment, a records request, or a date confirmation.

The New Mexico Municipal Courts contact directory identifies Clayton’s court location and a published office contact.

The directory is a court-contact source. It does not establish that every Union County traffic citation is a Clayton Municipal case, and it does not function as a citation docket search.

Union County Traffic Ticket Lookups

The citation is the primary lookup record. Read its court name, case or citation number, appearance or payment date, and printed instructions. The research found no official Union County citation search by name, citation number, or date of birth. Nor did it verify an online traffic result grid. The court named on the ticket is the first source for a court date, file, copy, or response question.

  1. Read the citation and identify its named court, number, date, and instructions.
  2. For a Union County Magistrate citation, call 575-374-9472 and consult the local Magistrate hearing-schedule page.
  3. For a Clayton Municipal citation, call a published office number to confirm the current contact and court date.
  4. Use a payment page only if the citation or court directs that payment route.
  5. Visit or contact the issuing court for a docket, court file, copy, certified record, or unresolved date question.

Clayton Payment Is Not a Docket

The court-branded Clayton nCourt payment page is a vendor payment channel. Its inspected static page identifies Clayton Municipal Court and payment options, but it did not expose a citation-number search, case-number search, name search, court-date field, hearing calendar, or docket-result field. Payment access and docket access are different functions.

Use nCourt only when the court or citation directs its use. A payment confirmation is not a court docket, a calendar result, or a certified court record. For a date or case-file question, contact Clayton Municipal Court directly.

Traffic Court Dates in Union County

The citation controls the reported appearance or payment date. This research found no Union-specific replacement deadline chart. For a Magistrate case, check the Union County Magistrate hearing-schedule page, then call the court before traveling. For a Clayton Municipal matter, the clerk is the direct date-confirmation path because the inspected payment page does not show a calendar.

Confirm a Traffic Date Directly

New Mexico’s court-date tools are complementary. The Eighth Judicial District’s broader calendar says judicial calendars are tentative, may change, and are updated weekly. re:SearchNM has a Hearings search and can show hearing details for authorized account access. A dedicated local schedule page offers another visibility route. The newest case event or direct confirmation from the court should control when sources differ.

For a Union County Magistrate traffic matter, the official Magistrate Court listings supplies the Union court’s location and contact reference.

The listing helps route a traffic-date question to the Magistrate court. It does not replace the citation, a current case docket, or direct confirmation of a specific hearing.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

The citation’s instructions control the response path. This research did not locate official Union County or Clayton instructions describing a contest procedure, a payment deadline beyond the citation, or the legal effect of payment. The comparison below separates what the verified services do from what must be confirmed with the named court. It does not assume a plea, a hearing process, or a deadline that the local sources did not publish.

Do not infer a missed-date procedure: No official Union County or Clayton failure-to-appear consequence notice, late-payment rule, or license-hold procedure was located. If a citation date has passed or is unclear, contact the court named on the ticket promptly for current instructions.

New Mexico Fines and Fees Selectors

New Mexico Fines and Fees is a judiciary-branded LexisNexis payment route. Its first screen requires a Court Type selection and then a Court Location selection before continuing. The captured Court Type menu showed Appellate, District, Metro, Magistrate, and Search All Courts. Municipal was not shown in that first selector, and the later dynamic location list was not captured.

Select a route only after the court named on the citation has been identified. The screen leads to payment steps. It did not provide a verified public case-result grid, a docket search, or a court-date calendar.

Two Records: Court File and Driver File

A traffic court file and a motor-vehicle history record are distinct records kept by different custodians. The court that filed the traffic matter keeps the citation case record, its docket, and any clerk-issued copy. The state motor-vehicle custodian keeps the separate driver file. The project did not inspect a state motor-vehicle records page, so it does not describe a request form, cost, or content for that separate record.

Why a Municipal Case May Be Missing

New Mexico Case Lookup is useful for an initial public case-information attempt, but its Municipal Court coverage is historically narrow. The judiciary access page limits it to historic criminal domestic-violence and DWI convictions from September 1, 1991. That published scope is not a present-day Clayton Municipal traffic docket. A no-result screen therefore does not establish that a Clayton citation was dismissed, erased, sealed, or never filed.

Recheck the citation’s court name and number. Then call the Clayton Municipal clerk to confirm the court file, date, or record route. If the citation is actually a Magistrate matter, use the Magistrate court instead. The best answer is the docket keeper for the court that accepted the case, not a broad countywide assumption.

Traffic Record Copy Fees

Ask the issuing court for a traffic file, docket, ordinary copy, or certified record. The Eighth Judicial District fee schedule supplies verified District Court copy and certificate amounts. It does not supply a separate Clayton Municipal copy or certification schedule, a record-search fee, a docket-sheet price, an electronic-delivery fee, or a turnaround promise. Confirm the exact court and total before ordering.

No Union County Fine Schedule

No official Union County or Clayton local fine schedule was located. The payment services do not replace the citation’s amount, due date, or court instructions. Verify the actual amount with the court named on the citation before using a payment route. Do not estimate a fine from another court’s schedule or from a case that appears similar.

The Eighth Judicial District fees, costs, and filing page concerns court copy and certification fees, not a Union County traffic fine schedule. The research also did not locate a local late-payment rule, contest instruction outside the citation, deferred-disposition rule, safety-course rule, or failure-to-appear procedure. Those questions require current direction from the court named on the ticket.

For a Magistrate citation, 575-374-9472 is the practical local court contact documented in the research. For a Clayton Municipal citation, the state sources publish 575-207-0445 and 575-374-8114, so confirm which office number is current before relying on it. Those contacts can direct a case-specific question to the appropriate clerk, but neither number should be used to assume a procedure that the court has not confirmed.
